Agent Commerce
Agentic Storefront
A storefront exposed to AI agents through a protocol endpoint rather than only as rendered HTML. Shopify built these into the platform in its Winter 2026 Edition, activating UCP and native MCP servers by default for all merchants, so an agent can query the catalogue and transact without parsing the visual site.
Why it matters
It changes what your storefront is. The rendered page becomes one interface among two, and the machine-readable one is the version an agent buyer actually uses.
In practice
If you are on Shopify you have one whether or not you asked. Check what it exposes and whether the data behind it is accurate, because it is now a sales surface.
