Audience Saturation
When a target audience has been shown ads so frequently that incremental reach approaches zero and each additional impression drives diminishing returns. Detected by the simultaneous pattern of rising frequency, declining CTR, and increasing CPA. Smaller audiences saturate faster than larger ones: a niche audience of a few hundred thousand reaches saturation at far less monthly spend than a broad audience of millions. The cure is audience expansion, creative refresh, or strategic spend reduction, not doubling down.
Why it matters
It looks identical to creative fatigue in the ROAS line and needs the opposite fix: new people rather than new ads.
In practice
Separate them with reach. If reach has plateaued while frequency climbs, the audience is exhausted and fresh creative will not help.
