GPTBot
OpenAI's crawler for gathering training data, distinct from OAI-SearchBot. Blocking it excludes your content from future model training but does not affect whether ChatGPT can surface you in search.
Why it matters
The distinction from OAI-SearchBot is the whole point. A publisher may reasonably block training while wanting search inclusion, and a single blanket rule cannot express that.
In practice
Decide the two separately. Most merchants want OAI-SearchBot allowed; whether to allow GPTBot is a content-rights judgment, not a marketing one.
