OAI-SearchBot
OpenAI's crawler for search and browsing surfaces, distinct from GPTBot. Blocking it in robots.txt removes your site from ChatGPT's search results while leaving training-data crawling unaffected, which is usually the opposite of what a merchant intends.
Why it matters
It is the single most consequential line in most merchants' robots.txt, and it is frequently blocked by a blanket AI-bot rule copied from a blog post. The effect is invisible until you probe for it.
In practice
Read your robots.txt and confirm OAI-SearchBot is allowed. This is a binary visibility switch, not an optimisation.
